Citizen Science
for Marine Debris

Building on data-driven insights generated by the Australian Marine Debris Initiative we have worked with Tangaroa Blue Foundation, an organisation dedicated to the removal and prevention of marine debris in Australia through citizen science data collection and analysis.

We have assisted Tangaroa Blue Foundation in projects including the creation of targeted litter source reduction plans which trace litter pathways and help to reduce and improve problem litter at the source, and development of litter monitoring protocols for citizen scientists. A key part of this work is the communication of science and data through visual graphics.

Additional projects with have included report writing and policy submissions, as well as feet-in-the-mud litter monitoring and delivery of workshops and training.
