How we make waves…
Green Island Creative is certified by the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility and transparency. We demonstrate this commitment through our Social Traders certification.
As a small business we give a minimum of 10% of our time to local, community-owned initiatives that make a positive contribution to people and planet. We offer discounted rates to small businesses and non profits making a positive contribution to their community and Country. We also donate 10% of our profits to marine conservation.
We work from a green office with clear targets to continue reducing our environmental impact. Many of our clients and suppliers also share our green credentials and ethical sourcing commitments. We’re proud to say that we are the Shoalhaven’s first certified social enterprise.

For every ten hours that we bill, we donate one hour of brand and project consultancy to a local community initiative or ethical start-up. In the financial year 23/24, we donated well over 10% of our hours to
Community yoga classes
Where pro-bono services have been allocated, we also offer 20% discount rates to ethically motivated and community-owned businesses on Yuin Country.
Because we surf, swim, dive, eat… the ocean is our life. Green Island Creative has worked extensively with ocean conservation and sustainable fishing organisations in Australia, and had the unique opportunity to gain access to research, insights and community networks in the marine conservation ‘seascape’. This work has set us on a path of dedicated service to the marine environment. We therefre donate a percentage of our profits to marine conservation organisations like ORRCA - an entirely volunteer-run Australian charity that works to rescue, rehabilitate and research marine mammals.
What is a social enterprise?
Social Enterprises are an innovative breed of businesses that exist to create a fairer and more sustainable world. They must do 3 things
Have a defined primary social, cultural or environmental purpose consistent with a public or community benefit, and
Derive a substantial portion of their income from trade, and
Invest efforts and resources into their purpose such that public/community benefit outweighs private benefit.
